Seminar "Reviewing and implementing the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET)"

22 -23 May 2013 - In cooperation with the National Qualifications Authority (NQA) and the European Organization for the Credit System ECVET (European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training) was organized the two day seminar dedicated to the improvement and development of the credit system in Kosovo.

The National Qualifications Authority in Kosovo with the financial support has realized this two days seminar with the aim of developing the implementing mechanisms based on the recommendations of the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training. The seminar was led by international experts of ECVET;

Ms Alexandra Costa Artur and Mr Didier Gelibert whom provided to the present attendees informations and trainings on the procedures and processes for the implementation of the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training criteria, based on various European practices, both in the practical sense of expected results, combination rules, modules, credits, credit transfers, as well as other European instructions such as EQUAVET, Europass etc.

The achieved objectives during this two day seminar are:

1.Identifying the needs for the improvement of the quality and comparativeness between the Kosovo criteria and European experiences;

2. Mobility opportunities and acknowledgment of credits between the providers of vocational education and training in Kosovo;

3. Encouraging and engaging the interest parties in establishing a complete system of credits in Kosovo;

4. A clear overview of implications on the reforms and criteria of the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training;

5. Understanding the role and establishing the opportunities the credit system offers for the acknowledgment of previous education;

6. Building the trust and transparency between institutions/providers.
